{the reading group} SLI Week 7

pompoms

This week, we read chapters 12 and 13. Beth asks...

1. Based on Chapter 12, name one “I already knew that” moment and one “that’s new to me” moment, if either applies.

2. Based on Chapter 13, how does a weak will play into our insecurity?

1. I don't think there were any specific 'aha moments' in this chapter. It was good to be reminded however that with a steady diet of unrealistic media, we can lose sight of what a good man looks like.

2. It takes willpower to continually pick ourselves up after something triggers insecurity; it takes willpower to reject the overwhelming emotions that insecurity can bring. A weak will gives in without a fight.

ah, catching up..

1. none for me too but this stood out: “At the end of the day, both men and women want to be with someone they can respect”.

2.It amplifies and exaggerates the intended meaning of messages and beats us up with it. I think it also makes us make false accusations/ conclusions.
