Our team leader Kenny and his wife Bee Lee are in Singapore as he seeks treatment for cancer. Please pray for their daughter, Debbie, who remains here in London.
Our office manager, Fawzia, is taking a three-month sabbatical. The team was taken unawares by this – we knew it was coming, but not when it would begin – so her duties (reception, post, etc) are going to have to be absorbed by others. Bee Lee is also one of our receptionists, so we really are short-staffed at the office. Please pray for grace for those of us who are filling in, and for others to deal graciously with us – in these circumstances, things inevitably fall behind. Do also pray that Fawzia will be blessed and refreshed by her time away.
The office network/internet access unexpected died on us over Christmas. It was resurrected late last night thanks to our visiting IT expert, Zul (who came in despite being down with a bad cold), but this has meant that there is a tremendous amount of catching up to do.
Finally, would you pray for my parents and I? When it boils down to it, we are the only three OMers working in the building on a day-to-day basis. My mother and I are trying to cover the reception. I’m trying to take on sending out the Verwer post, but have asked others in the team to send their post themselves, as at this stage I’m unable to do the post full-time. The three of us have had a busy and tiring Christmas with family visiting, and many other obligations. My cousin in Southampton, who stayed with us over Christmas, has been battling health challenges, so my parents have been driving back and forth to Southampton to help him. My father is preparing for a month-long trip to India. I have a mountain of dictation awaiting me that I was supposed to work on over the Christmas period but couldn’t access with the computers down. A close friend of the family died unexpectedly just before Christmas, and we've been trying to be a support to his family. My mother continues to be warden for the church that meets at the office on Sunday, as the guys staying in the office flat usually work at that time. And finally, the three of us are not in the best of health, so all these things combined are quite a strain. Please pray for supernatural grace and strength, and that above all we may continue in Him and for Him.
Many thanks for your love and friendship.
