Charles Dicken's novel, A Christmas Carol, was first published on this day in 1843. It was originally called 'A Christmas Carol in Prose, Being a Ghost Story of Christmas' (quite a mouthful!). Dickens churned it out to pay off his debts, but it was an instant success then, and is still loved today.God bless us, everyone!
