My first ‘mission’ with AIDSLink will be go to the West Indies with Rosemary Hack from the 4th till the 18th of September. The Logos II will be in Trinidad at the time, so AIDSLink will do some HIV training onboard, as well as in local churches.
Representatives from OM’s sports ministry (SportsLink) will also be present, and we are looking at the possibilities of working together to bring HIV awareness into their training and the possibility of doing something in conjunction with the 2007 Cricket World Cup.
Please pray for the developing ministries of OM Ships in HIV/AIDS awareness programmes.
*Pray these would raise awareness and educate local churches in the ports visited, and that these churches can take a leading role in HIV prevention and in caring for AIDS sufferers in their communities.
*Pray for the sourcing of appropriate materials in local languages.
*Pray for good opportunities to work with AIDS affected families in the outreaches.
*Pray that some of the ships' crew will go into full time HIV/AIDS ministry after their Ships comittment.
